In September 2025, Team IFS swapped the office for the water as we took part in the Northern Ireland Hospice Dragon Boat Race, a fantastic event filled with teamwork, laughter, and a shared commitment to supporting a truly inspiring cause.
Supporting a Vital Cause
Each year, the Northern Ireland Hospice and Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice bring together teams from across the community for their Dragon Boat Race. The event raises essential funds to help provide specialist palliative care and support for adults, children, and their families living with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.
This incredible organisation delivers care both in their hospices and out in the community, ensuring that patients receive comfort, dignity, and compassion at every stage. The funds raised through events like this go directly towards maintaining these vital services, supporting staff, and providing the equipment and facilities that make such a difference to families across Northern Ireland.

Fundraising and Fun on the Water
Our IFS team was proud to take part this year and even prouder to have raised an incredible £2,110 in donations, exceeding our original target! Every pound will help the Hospice continue providing life-changing care and support to those who need it most.
And, of course, we couldn’t help but add a splash of IFS flair to the day, quite literally! With coordinated outfits and plenty of spirit, we were delighted to be named Best Dressed Team 🏆 proving that teamwork and creativity go hand-in-hand.
Building Stronger Connections
Beyond the paddles and the prizes, the event offered something even more valuable, a chance to come together as a team outside the workplace.
The race tested our communication, timing, and teamwork (not to mention our arm strength!), and gave us an opportunity to connect in a new way. Supporting each other on the water reminded us of the same principles that drive success at IFS every day: collaboration, trust, and shared purpose.
These kinds of experiences strengthen not only our team spirit but also our collective motivation to make a positive impact, both within the business and in the wider community.

A Big Thank You
We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated, encouraged, and supported us along the way. Your generosity helped us make a real difference for Northern Ireland Hospice and Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice, organisations that continue to touch countless lives across the region.
The day was a reminder that small acts of teamwork and community spirit can create waves of positive change, and we’re already looking forward to next year’s race!
