DB Schenker unveiled as Logistics Provider for Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games

Glasgow 2014 today (Tuesday 3 December) announced DB Schenker as Official Logistics Provider for the Commonwealth Games.

DB Schenker will provide warehouse space, warehouse operations including staff and equipment, and freight transportation services.

The company will provide an end to end service for the Games and has extensive experience in the provision of logistics services for major sporting events.

DB Schenker was an Official Provider at two previous Commonwealth Games, Manchester 2002 and Melbourne 2006, and were also an exclusive supplier at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

The company has worked with the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) since 2004 and recently extended its agreement to provide logistics, freight forwarding and customs clearance services throughout Sochi 2014 and Rio 2016.

With 15 locations and more than 730 employees in the UK, DB Schenker provides comprehensive logistics services and global supply chain management.

DB Schenker has 2,000 offices worldwide with a presence in more than 130 countries and is part of the Transport and Logistics Division of Deutsche Bahn, the German Railways. They offer comprehensive logistics  services including transportation chains across all carriers.
